Which houseguest will get evicted from Big Brother Canada this week? Who cares? Well, apparently, at least 1.4 million people do, as evidenced by this week’s Canadian TV ratings chart.
According to Global, the series grew 17 per cent over last season’s premiere, and drew a rapt legion of 342,000 advertiser-friendly 18-to-34-year-olds.
On the other end of the demo spectrum, older Canadians continue to love their TV crime procedurals. Follow along as a I prove my case: not just one, but three versions of NCIS are at or near the top of this week’s chart. Not to mention CSI: Cyber and the long-running Criminal Minds — even CBC’s 19th century detective series Murdoch Mysteries regularly gets ratings traction.
However, why this is so remains a mystery. (Until next week.)
